“They have a keen eye for pain through knowledge, learning, and experience, and have helped me find solutions to get Scotia back to her spunky, active self.” - Micaela & Scotia

I have worked with Klarissa for the last few months. They are considerate, consistent, inclusive, and accessible. I have been on a journey of helping my chihuahua terrier, Scotia, with her pain management regimen and decided to bring Klarissa on board.

They have a keen eye for pain through knowledge, learning, and experience, and have helped me find solutions to get Scotia back to her spunky, active self. They offered validation and encouragement for my struggles with feeling like I am good enough, using examples and hard data to prove it — no thanks to toxic positivity.

Klarissa was a key figure in finding a great vet to work with and guided me through the vet-interviewing process. They are realistic about what is feasible and possible for myself, Scotia, and our current living arrangements. I highly recommend them to any and all my fellow dog-considerate humans.
“I am so grateful for the content they share, the work they do, and the values they clearly live out.”

As first-time pet parents, my wife and I knew something was going on but felt very overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start in understanding our dog’s pain. We did the suspicion of pain assessment with Klarissa and felt so supported through the entire process.
Everything they sent was super helpful, giving us a clear path for how to talk with our vet and management tips we could implement at home to increase his comfort. I am so grateful to them for the content they share, the work they do, and the values they clearly live out. Highly recommend their services!!
“I don’t know if Mochi would be getting pain relief right now if we hadn’t been guided by your report.”
- Emily & Mochi

Since Mochi is my first dog, I don’t have a great sense of what a “normal” gait is for dogs — only what is normal for Mochi. Seeing your notes, diagrams, and edited video helped me feel much more confident that something was amiss.

When I approached my vet about a pain trial, I was able to provide concrete evidence of her discomfort. Being rural, we don’t have the option of shopping around for vets, so I wanted to be well prepared to advocate for Mochi, and I was able to be because of your expert analysis. I don’t know if Mochi would be getting pain relief right now if we hadn’t been guided by your report.
“They gave us very easy and tangible adjustments to make right away after sharing that Clark was showing signs of pain.” - Roma & Clark.

I’m beyond grateful for Klarissa’s knowledge and guidance during our Suspicion of Pain consultation for my dog Clark in September of 2023. They were extremely kind, gentle, and helpful both during and after our session.

They gave us very easy and tangible adjustments to make right away after sharing that Clark was showing signs of pain. They also provided thorough notes and video observations that were easy to share with his primary care veterinarian.

Since our consult, I have made many adjustments to help Clark live with as little pain as possible, including daily anti-inflammatory medication, in-home acupuncture, a veterinarian-recommended hip and joint supplement, raised food and water bowls, and lifting him in and out of the car, among others. I’m also enrolled in a canine massage course, per their recommendation, to learn more about alleviating tension in his body alongside other pain management interventions.

Thank you so much, Klarissa, for all of your help!!
“After our appointment, we were able to provide our vet with resources and information they wouldn’t normally get to see.” - Rebekah & Frankie.

After following Klarissa for years on social media, we finally engaged their Behaviour & Wellness Consult services. We suspected our deeply complex Boxer, Frankie, was experiencing some undiagnosed pain. Because Frankie doesn’t show pain signals at the vet, any sort of diagnosis or medical procedures are really tricky.

Klarissa was so helpful and thorough — from their well-designed and considered forms and templates, to the follow-up appointment discussing their observations. We felt so at ease with their feedback and advice. It was really validating, but also devastating, to have my suspicions confirmed: that Frankie was experiencing pain.

After our appointment, we were able to provide resources and information to our vet, who doesn’t normally get to see Frankie displaying the movements that indicate pain. We are about to begin a pain medication trial after our vet was able to see the subtle pain indications Klarissa pointed out in the video footage we provided.

We are based in Aotearoa New Zealand, so it was incredibly helpful to have this service accessible through an online consultation. I would recommend Klarissa to any dog guardian. The lengths they go to to keep their space safe, informative, and accessible are unmatched. Thank you, Klarissa — we are so grateful for you.
“They did this in a very compassionate, practical way that was manageable for us at a busy time in our lives.” - Bronwyn & Crumpet

I’m so glad we reached out for Klarissa’s insights on our Australian Kelpie, Crumpet. Even though he is less than two years old and the happiest little boy, something seemed off with his posture and movements, and we weren’t making progress with behaviours like repetitive barking and pulling hard on the leash.

Klarissa helped validate our suspicions that he was experiencing pain and set us up for success with our vets to pursue a pain trial and investigate the source of his pain, while also helping us manage and reduce his discomfort in the meantime. They did this in a very compassionate, practical way that was also manageable for us during a busy time in our lives.

I’m so glad we have Klarissa and their experience, knowledge, and insight on Team Crumpet!
